Virtual reality travel is growing according to a statement issued by AFP concerning the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has literally decimated the international tourism sector. New apps and new hardware for virtual reality are made available to the public, for all those who want to visit any place in the world (for which VR data is naturally available that must be previously collected, for example, through special cameras that record «In three dimensions»).
The «virtual tourism» sector itself has skyrocketed, as stated by Cezara Windrem, an entrepreneur who created Alcove VR, a new platform that is interested in tourist travel in the virtual world.
The app they created allows users to visit places, for example, such as the Australian coral reef, the pyramids in Egypt, or the island of Malta, and visits can also be made with other family members.
Even the virtual reality viewers themselves are becoming more and more «user friendly», increasingly cheaper, and more and more advanced in terms of resolution and sharpness, characteristics necessary for a satisfying experience closer to reality. These advances are also made possible by parallel advances in terms of processors and new and increasingly updated video cards for personal computers.
